Born in Birmingham, England in 1988.

On leaving high school I studied for a BTEC in Photography, which then led me to study for a BA in Photographic Art at the University of Wales, Newport. Initially I thought that I wanted to be a fashion photographer, but then I started to make the work that I really wanted to make - work that was more personal.

I graduated in 2010 with a self portraiture project that explored a personal phase that I went through in my second year of the course. From there a positive response (and a prize commission) gave me the confidence to produce further series, which in the making and exhibiting process have helped me overcome personal hurdles.

I see my work as a therapeutic process. Through making my photography (and now video work) my self-esteem, self-worth and self-confidence have increased and I hope to continue with this. Whilst my work is often self-portraiture, I hope that others can relate to the themes - which are generally identity and representation.

I am currently studying for an MA in Photography at the London College of Communication, which is where I have started to experiment with video. I have also recently self-published my first book.
